• File manager (e.g., ZArchiver or CX File Explorer)

Step 1: Enable Unknown Sources Go to Settings > Security > Install from unknown sources > Allow your browser or file manager.

Step 2: Extract the files Do not run the APK yet. Use ZArchiver to extract the zip file. You will see two items:

• Winning_Eleven_2016_Extra_Quality.apk
• A folder named jp.konami.pes2016

Step 3: Install the APK Tap the APK file. Click "Install." Do not open the game yet (this is critical).

Step 4: Place the OBB Data Go to your internal storage > Android/obb/

• If there is NO folder named jp.konami.pes2016 here, create one.
• Copy the pre-extracted main.xxx.konami.pes2016.obb file into that folder.

Step 5: First Launch (Offline Mode) Turn off your Wi-Fi/Mobile Data. Open the game.

• Why? The game tries to connect to Konami’s dead servers. Offline mode forces it to load the cached OBB.
• You will see a "Connection failed" error. Hit "Retry" or "Play Offline."

Step 6: Enjoy Extra Quality If the textures are sharp, the kits are current, and the frame rate is smooth, you have successfully installed the real deal.

Part 6: Is it legal? The Konami Gray Area

This is a sensitive topic. Konami owns the license for Winning Eleven (PES). Distributing modified APKs violates the DMCA and Konami’s Terms of Service.

However: Because Konami no longer sells PES 2016 and has abandoned the servers, they typically do not pursue individual players who sideload old, modded versions for offline use. They focus on mods of current games (eFootball 2024).

Our stance: You should only download "Extra Quality" mods if you:

1. Previously purchased the official PES 2016 on Android (thus owning a license).
2. Use the mod strictly for offline Master League or Exhibition matches.
3. Do not attempt to monetize or re-upload the files.
