Phase 1: The "Inf" Method (Recommended for POS systems)

Extract the zip file to a folder named TVS_RP3160_Driver on your desktop.

Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

Click "Add a printer" at the top.

Windows will search. Click "The printer that I want isn't listed" (bottom of the dialog).

Select "Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings" > Next.

Select "Use an existing port".

For USB: Choose USB001 (Virtual printer port for USB).

For Serial (COM): Choose COM1 (adjust to your actual COM port).

Click "Have Disk" > "Browse".

Navigate to the extracted folder and look for a file ending in .inf. (Usually something like TVS_RP3160.inf or StarPRNT.inf).

Select the TVS RP 3160 Star model from the list.

Name the printer (e.g., "Billing_RP3160") and select "Do not share this printer" (unless on a network).

Click Finish.

Issue 1: "Unsupported OS" Error on Windows 10/11

If the installer says the OS is not supported:

Right-click the Setup.exe file.

Go to Properties > Compatibility.

Check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"

Select Windows 7 from the dropdown.

Click Apply and run the installer again.
