Part 1 had ended with a single, unexpected kiss in the supply closet during the office holiday party. Marcus had pulled back, his dark eyes searching hers, then whispered, "This is dangerous, Kelly." And then he'd walked away, leaving her breathless and furious at herself for wanting more.

Now, Part 2 begins three weeks later. Kelly hadn't spoken to Marcus since that night—not really. They exchanged polite nods in the hallway, but the air between them crackled with unspoken tension. She found herself refreshing his social media at 2 a.m., rereading old design articles he'd written, memorizing the way his hand moved when he sketched concepts on a whiteboard.

Her new obsession was becoming a problem.

One rainy Tuesday, her boss asked her to deliver a project file to Marcus's office. Her heart hammered as she knocked.

"Come in."

Marcus was leaning back in his chair, sleeves rolled up, looking at a blueprint. When he saw her, something flickered in his expression—hunger, then restraint.

"Kelly." Her name on his lips felt like an electric current.

"Just dropping off the Emerson file," she said, trying to keep her voice steady.

He stood, walked around the desk, and closed the door behind her. "You've been avoiding me."

"I've been professional," she corrected, clutching the folder like a shield.

He stepped closer. "Professional doesn't stay up until 3 a.m. reading my old blog posts from 2015."

Kelly froze. "How do you—"

"Because I've been doing the same thing with your portfolio," he admitted, his voice low. "I know every project you've ever worked on, Kelly. I know you prefer midnight coffee to morning coffee. I know you tap your pen three times before you speak in meetings. I know I'm supposed to stay away from you because you're brilliant and focused and I'll only complicate your life."

She should have walked out. Instead, she dropped the folder.

"I don't want you to stay away," she whispered.

Marcus cupped her face gently, his thumb brushing her cheek. "Then we're both in trouble."

He kissed her—not like the closet kiss, which had been hurried and surprised. This was slow, deliberate, like he was memorizing the shape of her lips. Kelly melted into him, her fingers gripping his shirt, the obsession she'd been fighting suddenly feeling like the most natural thing in the world.

When they finally broke apart, foreheads resting together, he smiled. "No more hiding?"

"No more hiding," she agreed. "But we're telling HR before the rumor mill does."

Marcus laughed—a real, warm sound—and pulled her closer. "Deal. But Kelly?"

"Hmm?"

"This new obsession of yours? It's mutual."
