The Stylus RMX library, powered by the S.A.G.E. Engine, is an expansive collection of over 9,000 grooves and sounds. It is organized into three primary categories: Grooves, Sound Menus, and Kit Modules. Core Library Components

Grooves: The main attraction, consisting of thousands of loops that can be manipulated in real-time without affecting pitch.

Search: snare – Shows all loops containing snares.
Search: kick 80bpm – Narrows results.

How to Install an Expander Library:

  1. Download the .sagelib folder (e.g., Stylus_RMX_SAGE_XPander_Classic.sagelib)
  2. Place it inside:
    Spectrasonics/SAGE/ (Mac) or ProgramData/Spectrasonics/SAGE/ (PC)
  3. Reopen Stylus RMX → The expander appears in the left browser panel.

Steps:

  1. Drag any .rx2 file onto the Stylus RMX interface
  2. It auto-converts to a SAGE-format part
  3. Save as User Preset:
    Save > Save Part to SAGE Library

The Backbeat (Vintage Drums)

This is arguably the most famous expansion. Produced by legendary drummer/producer John "JR" Robinson (Michael Jackson, Madonna), this library features live, raw, unquantized drumming. It is the ultimate source for "human" feel in pop and rock. The kick drum samples in this library have been used on countless platinum records.

1. The "Chaos Designer"

This is Spectrasonics’ secret weapon. You can take a standard rock beat from the library, dial in 15% "Dynamic" Chaos and 5% "Feel" Chaos, and the engine will generate thousands of unique variations of that beat—automatically. You cannot do this with standard audio loops.
