Run ProjectZomboid32.exe – Yes, 32-bit. No, it won't use your graphics card.
Turn off "3D Survivors" in options, or your character will look like a praying mantis having a seizure.
Warning: Your modern save files from Build 42 are not compatible. Launching this will not break your main game, but it will make you realize how good you have it with the new inventory system.

Right-click > Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).
Exclusive step: Go to C:\Users\[YourName]\Zomboid and copy the SandboxPresets folder. This preserves the original sandbox settings exclusive to Build 37.
You now have a DRM-free, exclusive copy of Build 37. You can run this without Steam open forever.
