कहानी की शुरुआत:एक सुहानी सुबह, ऑगी ने अपने लिए एक शानदार 'चीज़ बर्गर' बनाया। जैसे ही वह पहला निवाला लेने वाला था, किचन की लाइट अचानक गुल हो गई। अंधेरे में उसे सिर्फ तीन जोड़ी चमकती आँखें दिखाई दीं। जब लाइट वापस आई, तो बर्गर गायब था! ऑगी समझ गया कि यह उन तीनों शैतानों का काम है।
पीछा और धमाचौकड़ी:ऑगी गुस्से में लाल-पीला होकर उनके पीछे भागा। जॉई ने फुर्ती से डाइनिंग टेबल के नीचे छलांग लगा दी। डीडीडी फ्रिज के पीछे छिप गया और मार्क ने ऑगी के रास्ते में केले का छिलका फेंक दिया। धड़ाम! ऑगी सीधे फर्श पर गिरा।
तभी वहां ऑगी का चचेरा भाई जैक आ गया। जैक बहुत ही गुस्सैल और ताकतवर बिल्ली था। उसने जब ऑगी की हालत देखी, तो बोला, "फिक्र मत कर ऑगी, आज इन कॉकरोचों को मैं सबक सिखाऊंगा!" जैक ने एक बड़ा सा हथौड़ा निकाला और कॉकरोचों के बिल की तरफ बढ़ा।
कॉकरोचों का पलटवार:लेकिन कॉकरोच भी कम नहीं थे। उन्होंने जैक के लिए एक जाल बिछाया। जैसे ही जैक ने बिल के पास हमला किया, ऊपर से एक भारी तिजोरी गिरी! जैक का चेहरा चपटा हो गया और वह स्प्रिंग की तरह उछलने लगा। ऑगी यह देखकर बेचारा अपनी हंसी भी नहीं रोक पा रहा था और डर भी रहा था।
कॉकरोचों ने पूरे घर को एक युद्ध के मैदान में बदल दिया। उन्होंने वैक्यूम क्लीनर चालू कर दिया, जिससे ऑगी और जैक दोनों हवा में उड़ने लगे। घर के सारे बर्तन और फर्नीचर इधर-उधर बिखर गए।
अंत में:काफी दौड़-भाग के बाद, ऑगी और जैक थककर सोफे पर गिर पड़े। कॉकरोच अपने बिल के बाहर खड़े होकर ऑगी का वही 'चीज़ बर्गर' मज़े से खा रहे थे। ऑगी ने एक ठंडी आह भरी और फिर से टीवी चला लिया। उसे समझ आ गया था कि इन तीनों के बिना उसके घर की रौनक (और शोर-शराबा) अधूरी है।
यही तो ऑगी और कॉकरोचों की जिंदगी है—कभी न खत्म होने वाली तकरार और ढेर सारी मस्ती!
