NS Audio THE BEATKRUSHER – User Guide
Who Is It For?
- Beatmakers (hip-hop, lo-fi, glitch hop) – adds grit without losing transient punch.
- Bass music producers (dubstep, dnb, halftime) – fantastic for Reese basses and drum bus crushing.
- Sound designers – especially for game audio (retro/chiptune) or industrial textures.
- Live performers – low CPU and simple macro potential (though no built-in macro mapping).
Not ideal for:
- Mix engineers seeking subtle mastering tape saturation (too aggressive at heart).
- Anyone needing a one-knob “make it dirty” solution – it requires tweaking.
A. Drive / Input
This controls the amount of gain hitting the distortion engine. NS Audio THE BEATKRUSHER -WiN-MAC-
- Low settings: Adds warmth and subtle saturation.
- High settings: Creates aggressive, fuzzy, or "bitcrushed" tones.
- Tip: Push this hard if you want your drums to punch through the mix, but watch your output levels.

Signal Flow & Modes
- Input → Effects Engine (rhythmic gate / slicer / bitcrusher / filters) → Output.
- Typical modes:
- Gate/Slice mode: chops incoming audio into rhythmic slices synced to host tempo.
- Crunch/Bitcrush mode: reduces bit depth/sample rate for lo-fi texture.
- Combined mode: both slicing and bit reduction applied with independent controls.
- Sync: Most timing parameters lock to host tempo (quarter, eighth, triplet, etc.) with a free/time-based option.
