Step 3: Setting Work Offsets (G54)
- Place a virtual blank (80x80x50mm aluminum) on the table via File > New Stock.
- On the MDI panel, press OFFSET SETTING.
- Go to the Work (G54) tab.
- Using the HANDLE mode, touch the left side of the part with an end mill, note the machine coordinate, divide by two, and input into X. Repeat for Y. Touch the top for Z.
- Tip: Version 7.2.2.0 has an "Automatic Edge Finder" tool in the toolbar – use it for speed.
