This process is used exclusively for Volume Licensing versions of Microsoft Office (e.g., Office LTSC 2021, Office 2019, Office 2016) activated via the Microsoft Actiation Server or telephone system.
Step 2: Get the Installation ID

Troubleshooting & edge cases
- Mismatched digits: If a single digit is wrong when you enter the Confirmation ID, activation fails. Double-check every group.
- Regional phone numbers: Activation numbers vary by country. If you can’t reach a number, try Microsoft’s official support site for alternatives.
- Reuse and limits: A product key can be limited to a number of activations. If you exceed that, the phone system may refuse to issue a Confirmation ID until a support agent verifies your entitlement.
- Air-gapped environments: You can request bulk or enterprise activation solutions (MAK, KMS) from licensing administrators instead of per-device phone activation.
