सुधीर एक मिडिल क्लास अकाउंटेंट था। उसकी पत्नी मीरा सादगी की मूरत थी — रोज सुबह उठकर चूल्हा-चौका करती, बच्चों को स्कूल भेजती, और शाम को उसका इंतजार करती। उनके बीच प्रेम तो था, लेकिन वह स्पर्श की भाषा नहीं जानती थी।
