Step 6: Optional Continuous Drainage (If Your Model Includes It)

For unattended operation (e.g., in a basement), use the continuous drain feature: Note: If your model has a compressor (larger,

  1. Locate the drain port (usually behind a rubber cap on the tank or lower back).
  2. Attach the included drain hose (standard inner diameter ~0.24 inches / 6mm).
  3. Route the hose to a floor drain, sink, or bucket. The end of the hose must be lower than the port (gravity flow).
  4. Remove the water tank float (or keep tank in place but make sure the hose is not kinked).
  5. Power on as usual – water will now flow out continuously.

Note: Not all Finether models support continuous draining. Check your manual. For models without a pump, you cannot drain upward. Water level reaches max line (visible window)

3.0 Product Overview and Components

A standard Finether dehumidifier consists of the following key components:

  1. Air Inlet: Usually located on the back or side; draws in moist air.
  2. Air Outlet: Located on the top; expels dry, warm air.
  3. Water Tank: Removable container at the base to collect extracted water.
  4. Control Panel: Located on the top of the unit for settings adjustment.
  5. Drain Hose Outlet (Optional): Located at the rear for continuous drainage.

2. Placement

Option A: The Water Tank (Manual)

Getting started: unpacking and placement

  1. Unbox carefully: remove protective film, detach ties, and check for visible damage.
  2. Choose the spot: place on a level surface at least 6 inches from walls and furniture to ensure good airflow. Avoid near heaters or direct sunlight.
  3. Room size matters: Finether units specify coverage (e.g., up to 1,500 sq ft). For open-plan areas, place centrally; for multiple rooms, use multiple units or reposition as needed.
  4. Power up safely: plug into a grounded outlet. Don’t use extension cords or power strips for continuous operation.
