If fullscreen causes the loop, force the game to launch in a window. Save the file as Read-Only
In the same localConfig file, add or modify these lines:
<WINDOWED>1</WINDOWED>
<FULLSCREEN>0</FULLSCREEN>
Save the file as Read-Only. Launch the game. It will open in a window. Once in-game, you can attempt to switch to fullscreen via the settings menu, but many users simply play in a maximized borderless window using third-party tools like Borderless Gaming.
