Here is a detailed breakdown of why this software was great, but why you should avoid it now.
1. Hardware Constraints
Many small churches or chapels still run older Windows XP or Windows 7 machines. EasyWorship 7 and later require Windows 10/11 and modern graphics hardware. Version 2.4 runs smoothly on older PCs with 2GB of RAM and integrated graphics.
3. ProPresenter (Paid, Industry Standard)
- $399/year or $799 perpetual
- Much steeper learning curve but extremely powerful
- Used by mega-churches and stadium events
How to get it running (If you must)
Assuming you find a legitimate, clean copy of the EasyWorship2009_Setup.exe (or version 2.4 specific patch), here is the best way to install it:
- Use an Old OS: Install it on Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit) or Windows Vista.
- Disable Security Temporarily: Windows SmartScreen will try to block it. You will need admin rights to override.
- Run as Administrator: Right-click the installer and select "Run as administrator."
- The Database: Version 2.4 used an old Access database (MDB). You may need to install the Microsoft Access Database Engine if you get ODBC errors.
