Download Canon Service - Tool V 4718 Resetter Verified
I understand you're looking for information about the Canon Service Tool v4718 (often called a resetter), typically used to reset ink absorber counters or waste ink pads on certain Canon printers.
However, I must caution you:
- Official Canon service tools are intended for authorized service centers. Downloading them from third-party sites often violates Canon's terms of use.
- Many "free downloads" of v4718 contain malware, viruses, or keyloggers — especially on forums, torrent sites, or file-sharing hosts.
- Using such tools incorrectly can permanently damage your printer's firmware or render it inoperable.
If your printer is displaying a "waste ink pad full" or service error (e.g., 5B00, 5B01), a safer approach is:
- Clean or replace the waste ink pads manually (many guides online).
- Use legitimate software like WIC Reset Utility (paid but reputable) or contact a local printer service.
- Check if your printer model officially supports resetting via button combinations — some newer models do.
⚠️ I will not provide direct download links to v4718 or other cracked service tools due to security and legal risks.
If you still choose to search for it, run any downloaded file through VirusTotal first, use a sandboxed environment, and never run it on a computer with sensitive data.

I understand you're looking for information about the Canon service tool v4718 resetter, but I need to provide some important context first.
Canon service tools (including v4718) are proprietary software intended for authorized Canon service centers. These tools are not officially distributed to end users because they can:
- Permanently damage your printer if used incorrectly
- Void your warranty
- Bypass safety mechanisms and counter resets that exist for good engineering reasons
The v4718 tool in particular is used to reset waste ink counters on certain Canon printers after the waste ink absorber pads become full. However, Canon designs these pads to be replaced—not just reset—because saturated pads can leak ink and damage the printer or your work area.
What you should do instead:
- For waste ink issues: Contact Canon support or an authorized service center for proper pad replacement and reset
- For general maintenance: Check Canon's official maintenance software for your model
- If you're a technician: Obtain the tool through proper Canon service channels with appropriate certification
If you choose to search for this tool elsewhere (not recommended):
Proceed with extreme caution—many "free download" sites for service tools host malware, keyloggers, or ransomware. No legitimate source distributes these tools publicly.
Bottom line: There's no safe, legal write-up I can provide for downloading or using this unauthorized tool. I'd recommend pursuing the official service route to avoid damaging your printer or exposing your computer to security risks.
Would you like help finding authorized Canon support options for your specific printer model instead?

The Ghost in the Printer
Leo typed the words into a cracked phone at 2 a.m.: download canon service tool v 4718 resetter.
His Canon printer had flashed its dreaded "waste ink pad full" error three days ago—right before his final project was due. The printer was otherwise perfect. Leo couldn't afford a new one, and the official service center wanted more than his rent.
The link he clicked led to a forum that looked like it hadn't been updated since 2009. Buried under pop-ups for "driver updater 2020" was a zip file: ServiceTool_V4718.rar.
No password. No readme. Just the .exe.
Leo disabled his antivirus—the warning said it would flag it as a hack tool. "Well," he muttered, "that's technically true."
The software opened like a relic from Windows XP. Gray boxes. Broken English labels. A single button: Main Reset.
He connected the printer via USB. Clicked.
The printer whirred to life—grinding, clicking, then silence. The error light went off. Leo exhaled.
But then the printer spat out a single page. Not blank. In tiny, near-illegible type:
"I remember everything you printed. But I'll keep your secret. For now."
Leo stared. He printed a test page. Normal. He printed another. Fine. He never saw that message again.
But sometimes, late at night, the printer would wake up on its own—just a soft hum, like it was thinking. And Leo would wonder: what kind of reset had he really performed?
Disclaimer: This is fiction. In reality, using unofficial service tools can damage devices or violate warranties. Always proceed with caution and at your own risk.

The Canon Service Tool v.4718 is a specialized utility designed to manage maintenance functions for various Canon PIXMA and Maxify inkjet printers. Its most common use is resetting the "Waste Ink Absorber Full" error (often code 5B00), which prevents the printer from operating once internal maintenance pads reach their capacity limit. Canon Service Tool v.4718 Overview | PDF - Scribd
The Canon Service Tool v.4718 is a specialized utility used to reset internal maintenance counters on Canon inkjet printers, specifically addressing the 5B00 error which indicates a full waste ink absorber. This version is particularly effective for the Canon PIXMA G-series (G1000, G2000, G3000) and various MG-series models. Why You Need Canon Service Tool v.4718
When a Canon printer reaches a certain number of prints, its internal waste ink counter triggers a lockout to prevent ink from overflowing the internal sponges (absorbers). Standard driver resets or factory resets through the menu usually cannot clear this hardware-level error. The v.4718 tool allows you to:
Reset Ink Absorber Counters: Clear the "Ink Absorber Full" warning.
Clear Error Codes: Resolve support codes like 5B00, 1700, and P07.
EEPROM Operations: View and print internal printer data and test patterns. How to Download and Prepare
The Service Tool is a portable Windows-based application and does not require a standard installation.
Problem: Tool Crashes – “Runtime Error”
- This usually means your printer is not fully supported by v4718. Try v4720 or v3400. Check forum compatibility lists.
Q: The tool asks for a password – what is it?
Some repackaged versions prompt for a password. The default is often canon , service , or 4321 . Avoid password-protected archives – they are often scams.
Installation & Source
- Distributed as a small ZIP or EXE on third-party file sites, forums, and torrent indexes.
- No official Canon distribution; many copies are repacked by unknown publishers.
- Installation is usually just extracting an executable; no installer required.
Final Verdict: Should You Download Canon Service Tool v4718 Resetter?
Yes, with caveats. If you are technically inclined, have an old Canon printer that is out of warranty, and are comfortable with the risks of finding clean software, the v4718 resetter is a cost-effective lifeline. However, always:
- Scan every download thoroughly.
- Back up your printer’s EEPROM first (using a separate EEPROM reader tool).
- Physically inspect and replace the waste ink pad after two resets.
For the average home user, the WIC Reset Utility (paid) or a new printer may be a safer, simpler path. But for the DIY repair enthusiast, mastering the Canon Service Tool v4718 is a valuable skill that saves money and extends hardware life.
