Download Brocade Network Advisor Fix May 2026

This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough for downloading Brocade Network Advisor (BNA).

Important Note: Brocade was acquired by Broadcom Inc. in 2016. As a result, all downloads and support have migrated to the Broadcom Support Portal. The old Brocade portal no longer exists.

Installation Steps

1. Disable UAC temporarily to avoid permission errors.
2. Run the installer as Administrator.
3. Choose "Server and Client" installation for an all-in-one setup.
4. When prompted for the database, create a new SQL instance or connect to remote DB.
5. After installation, launch the BNA Management Console.
6. Import your license file (.xml or .lic).
7. Add your switches using their IP addresses and SNMP credentials (public/private strings).

Step 4: Filter for Brocade Network Advisor

The Download Center interface can be dense. Use the filters on the left-hand side or the search bar: download brocade network advisor

1. Search Bar Method (Easiest):

   • Type Brocade Network Advisor into the keyword search bar.
   • Press Enter.

2. Filter Method (If search fails):

   • Product Group: Select "Storage Area Networking" (BNA is commonly categorized here).
   • Product: Select "Management Software" or look for "Brocade Network Advisor".
   • Product Version: Select the version you need (e.g., 14.x, 15.x).

Important Note:

• No New Licenses: Broadcom no longer issues new evaluation or perpetual licenses for BNA. If your license has expired, the software will revert to a read-only mode or stop working entirely.
• Virtual Appliance: In later versions, BNA was offered as an OVA (VMware appliance). This is the preferred deployment method for ease of maintenance.

B. Fabric Vision Technology (Embedded)

For smaller environments, newer Brocade switches include embedded "Flow Vision" and "Monitoring and Alerting Policy Suite (MAPS)" that send alerts to your existing syslog or SNMP manager.

Part 3: How to Legitimately Download Brocade Network Advisor (If You Have Support)

  • Arrange a lab environment to test discovery, monitoring, and reporting features.
