Method 1: Using the Physical Reset Button (Recommended)

You will need: A paperclip, a SIM ejector tool, or a similarly thin, pointed object. Method 1: Using the Physical Reset Button (Recommended)

Steps:

  1. Power On the Router: Ensure your Xiaomi AC2100 is plugged into a power source and is fully booted up (the front LED should be solid or blinking white/blue, depending on its state).
  2. Locate the Reset Button: Look on the bottom panel or the back panel of the router. You will find a small, recessed hole labeled "Reset" .
  3. Press and Hold: Insert your paperclip into the reset hole and press down firmly until you feel the button click.
  4. Wait for the Indication:
    • Keep holding the button for about 5 to 10 seconds.
    • The front LED will start blinking orange/amber rapidly.
    • Once you see this blinking light, release the button.
  5. Wait for Reboot: The router will now reboot automatically. This process takes about 2-3 minutes. Do not unplug the router during this time.
  6. Verification: The LED will turn to a steady blue (normal operation) or a steady orange (waiting for initial setup). The router is now reset to factory settings.

Method 3: Using the Web Interface (192.168.31.1)

If you can log into the router via a web browser:

  1. Connect your computer to the router (via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable).
  2. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.31.1 (common Xiaomi address) or http://miwifi.com.
  3. Log in with your admin password.
  4. Go to Advanced Settings (or常用设置 in Chinese firmware).
  5. Find System or Administration.
  6. Click Restore to Factory Defaults.
  7. Click Confirm.
