Algonaut Atlas 2 — Factory Content Install (Text Instructions)
Follow these steps to install Atlas 2 factory content so the plugin can access its built-in sample maps and assets.
Step 3: Locate Your Default Content Folder
Atlas 2 expects factory content in a specific user directory. By default, this is:
Documents\Algonaut\Atlas 2\
If this folder doesn’t exist, launch your DAW, instantiate Atlas 2 on a track, then close the DAW. The plugin creates the folder structure on first run. algonaut atlas 2 factory content install
Step 3 (Alternative): Manual Install (macOS / Custom folders)
If the automatic installer fails or you prefer manual control:
- Unzip the factory content.
- Move the unzipped
Factoryfolder to a permanent location (e.g.Documents/Algonaut/Atlas 2/Samples/or an external SSD). - Open Atlas 2 in your DAW.
- Go to Settings (gear icon) → Library tab.
- Click "Add Folder" and navigate to where you placed the
Factoryfolder. - Click "Rescan".
6. Verify Installation
- In Atlas 2's browser, confirm factory maps/sounds appear (look for “Factory,” “Core,” or similar categories).
- Load a few maps to ensure samples resolve and playback correctly.
Step 3: Linking the Library in Atlas 2

- Open Atlas 2 in your DAW (or in Standalone mode).
- Click the Settings icon (usually a gear symbol in the top right or left corner).
- Look for the "Library" or "Content Location" tab.
- Click the "+" button or the "Browse" button.
- Navigate to the folder you extracted in Step 2.
- Select the specific folder required. Usually, this is the folder labeled "Factory Content" or "Algonaut Atlas 2 Library."
- Click Select Folder (Windows) or Open (Mac).
Atlas will then scan the folder. You should see the interface populate with kits, and the "Installed" status should turn green or show a checkmark.
Step 4: Verify Installation in Atlas 2
- Open Atlas 2 inside your DAW.
- Click the "Kits" tab on the left.
- You should see folders like:

- Click any kit – samples should load and play instantly.
- Go to the "Samples" tab → "All Samples" – you should see hundreds of factory one-shots.
Troubleshooting
